Pic-a-Day: Prized Possession

Without a doubt, my family is the most prized element of my life, but if I had to pick a material object it would be my DSLR.  It isn’t top of the line, and I am saving for a Nikon D800.  But my D80 has done me well over the past few years.  I have taken thousand upon thousands of photos with it, and its performance never disappoints.

  1. A D800 is in the savings plan for me too. I do love my D200, but I kind of secretly wish it had done the decent thing and stopped working after it took a dive during the serious earthquake we had last year. Unfortunately (and also fortunately) Nikon built it too well and it’s perfectly fine despite it’s 2m leap across the room. Everything else broke, but my camera survived to document the destruction – it’s definitely served me well.

  2. Wow, you are really in the big-time photographer league! I’m happy with my little $750 Olympus PEN E-PL1!! It’s nothing fancy, but I still don’t know everything about it; it will be a long time before I think about cameras like the ones you are looking at!! I tried to take a picture of mine in a mirror but I didn’t like it, so I show my other prized possession here: http://catbirdphotography.wordpress.com/2012/05/15/pic-a-day-prized-possession/

  3. I am saving for the D800, too…or whatever full-frame is out when I finally pull the trigger on it. I love the D5100 and I need to wear it out, first. (Just under 2000 pictures in about 7 months. Still learning about it.)

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a reply.
