I love the challenge of low light photography.
So it only stands to reason with the holiday season upon us, and the Christmas tree glowing in my living room each evening that it would become the subject of my 52 Pick Up this week.
I wanted to capture not only the glow of the lights, but also the reflection and refraction of those lights in a variety of glass ornaments. I opened the aperture as wide as my lens would allow, dumped the shutter speed down to 1/40 and then played around with the ISO to get the effect that I wanted. I used my macro lens for all of these images and each were taken hand held with manual focus.
